The MG ZS EV, one of the most affordable electric cars on the market, has had a facelift and upgrades since we last reviewed one in these pages. The new car arrives in showrooms next month and gets a new front design that ditches the grille – unnecessary in an EV – and replaces it with a concept-car style stamped-effect fascia.
More importantly for one of the UK’s Top 10 selling EVs, it gets a new 72kWh battery pack which bumps up the range considerably to a claimed 273 miles – previously the range was 163 miles, though a 51kWh battery will also be offered next year offering 198 miles. For the longer-range edition, it’s claimed that 100% charged can be achieved in 42 minutes in a 100kW rapid charger or 10 and a half hours on a standard 7kW charger.
The interior revisions include a 10.1-inch tablet-style touchscreen with new graphics and improved functionality. Prices will be revealed in November.
