Type 2 diabetes plan targets those at high risk

My name is Farhana and I work for Acas. Acas stands for Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service. Acas provides free and impartial information and advice to employers and employees on all aspects of workplace relations and employment law.

I manage a team of advisers who talk to businesses and individuals that require guidance about employment law, best practice and workplace issues. Everyday Acas advisers provide clarity to customers and empower them to make informed decisions. Our service is confidential too, and you do not have to tell us your name or the name of the company. In my experience as a previous adviser and a manager, I have had the opportunity to interact with employers and employees from a variety of industries and sectors, as well as a range in business sizes. Being able to provide support to employers and employees in need is highly rewarding.
Acas is an independent and impartial body governed by a Council made up of members from business, trade unions, the academic world and the legal professions. Acas support good relationships between employers and employees which underpin business success. Our advice helps employers and employees to resolve workplace conflicts early and maintain good working relations.
Acas also provide good value, high quality training and tailored advice directed to employers. This improves productivity and efficiency in organisations and makes working life better for individuals. At the moment we are delivering our training digitally, but when we do return to normal ways of working, we can offer face to face training at our offices in central Manchester, or we can come out and deliver to you at your workplace if you prefer.
Acas are the workplace experts. Our expertise is based on millions of contacts with employers and employees each year.  We keep up to date with developments in employment law and employers can trust and rely on our website, helpline and training courses to inform them of these changes and how this will impact their businesses and employees.
