Imran Khan Cancer Appeal Successfully Completes 5K Pink Walk to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness in the Asian Community

The Imran Khan Cancer Appeal is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 5K Pink Walk events, held simultaneously at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, and Lister Park, Bradford. The walks were organised to raise awareness about breast cancer, with a particular focus on its impact on the Asian community.
The events saw an overwhelming response, with participants from all walks of life coming together to highlight the importance of early detection and support for those affected by breast cancer. Participants donned pink in solidarity, creating a powerful visual statement of unity and hope. Families, cancer survivors, and supporters gathered to show their commitment to spreading awareness and encouraging action within their communities.
Shafiq Rafiq Events coordinator for the Imran Khan Cancer Appeal, expressed gratitude to all the participants, saying:
“We are truly humbled by the turnout and the energy displayed at both events. Breast cancer awareness is crucial, particularly within the Asian community, where cultural barriers and lack of information often hinder early diagnosis. The support we’ve received today underscores the strength of our collective resolve to bring about positive change and offer assistance to those in need.”
Both events aimed to shed light on the growing need for education and support within the community. Attendees had access to educational material, expert advice, and personal stories from survivors, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings, early detection, and access to proper healthcare.
The Imran Khan Cancer Appeal remains dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families through the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, where efforts to combat this disease continue with the utmost priority.
The success of the 5K Pink Walk will enable the appeal to continue its mission to spread awareness and provide life-saving treatment to individuals affected by cancer. We are deeply thankful to everyone who participated and contributed to this cause.
